Backed by years of experience, we offer a wide range of courses to suit different levels and needs.
From CPC to ADR training, Class 1 C+ E to Forklift training, our courses provide you with the skills you require to be a knowledgeable, safe and confident driver.
Driver CPC
The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) is a European Union Directive implemented in September 2009, and covers anyone licensed to drive commercial vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. Both newly-qualified and experienced drivers will have a legal responsibility to make sure they meet the requirements of the Driver CPC and carry a valid Drivers Qualification Card (DQC), once qualified.
ADR Training
From January 1st 2007 it became mandatory for drivers of all vehicles carrying Dangerous Goods to be trained by Department for Transport approved training providers. After sitting the approved dangerous goods training course and passing the examination, drivers receive an ADR Vocational Training Certificate (VTC) which is valid for 5 years and recognised throughout Europe. Within 12 months of the expiry date VTC holders are required to take a refresher course to bring them up to date with changes in dangerous goods legislation.
Class 1 C+ E
Our Class 1 C+ E course include:
- 2½ day course to bring the candidate to a high level of training.
- Finance packages available subject to status.
- One to one Training
Forklift Operator Novice
Basic Operator Training – This course is designed for persons with no knowledge of Fork Lift Truck operation whatsoever. It provides the candidate with the essential knowledge necessary for the safe operation of the truck and teaches vehicle sympathy as a vital part of the job. You must be over the minimum school leaving age (16+)
Forklift Operator Experienced/Refresher
Existing Operator Training – This course is designed for persons that have experience in the use of forklift operation but hold no formal qualification. The course will provide delegates with training in how to carry out pre-use checks and in the safe and efficient operation of a forklift truck in the workplace. Experienced operator will have some previous experience and will be familiar with the articulation and operating characteristics of a fork truck but will not have had the benefit of adequate, formal training in basic operating skills
Electric Pallet Truck
Regulations require all employers to take reasonable steps to ensure safety among their employees and ensure their workers have been correctly trained and hold the appropriate certification.
½ day course will enable the candidate to have a safe working practice of the equipment and receive certification.
Tail Lift Training
The ½ day course is aimed at any operator using a commercial tail lift. Course includes correct loading/unloading , how they should be used along with pre use checks and working at height.
Fire Marshall
If you own, manage or operate a business your will need to comply with fire safety laws. The main law is the regulatory reform (fire safety) order 2005 or The Fire Safety Order which applies across England and Wales and came into force on 1st October 2006. Our half-day Fire Safety Training Course will ensure you and your Fire Marshalls are fully compliant and also help with fire safety in the workplace.
First Aid Course
Employers have an obligation under the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981 and Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L74) to make adequate and appropriate First Aid provision for their workforce.
Our course covers the full EFAW First Aid at Work and is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks, where a nominated or appointed person is required to take charge in the event of an illness or accident.

PHILL HANNAH
With over a decade of experience, Phill joined FreightTrain to start our training school. Having spent 14 years in the army, where he was a key part of driving training and accident investigation, Phill himself holds multiple licences. In addition to licences A, B, BE, C, CE, D, DE and H, Phill is also a qualified ADR training instructor and forklift instructor.
“I strongly believe that driver training should be done at the highest standard. That’s why I don’t just teach drivers to pass their test, I make sure they become safe and knowledgeable drivers who are confident in the driver’s seat.”
ANDY WRIGHT
With 39 years in the driving industry, Andy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to FreightTrain. He’s been a Grade A DVSA ADI instructor and DVSA fleet trainer for 16 years – providing him with a multitude of skills that he is keen to pass on to his pupils.
